Hail does its fair share of damage here in the Show-Me State. In fact, where it may be no surprise to St. Charles’ residents to hear that Missouri ranks as one of the worst states for hailstorms, many may not know that Missouri fell victim to the second-costliest hailstorm in American history. It was estimated to have caused more than $2 billion in damages to cars, homes and businesses from Kansas City to St. Louis.

Though the state ranks among the top five for most insurance claims of hail damage, it is estimated that about 250,000 cars are damaged every year by the barrages of icy balls. Unsightly, cottage-cheese type of damage left across the surfaces of the vehicles is often the unfortunate result left behind by these storms.
